
About Frank
Frank Nunez is a proud Vista native with deep roots in his community. His grandfather participated in the Bracero program in the 1950s, and his family legally migrated from Mexico in the 1960s seeking a better life. His parents found that life in Vista, working on local farms in the early 1970s, packing tomatoes and harvesting avocados.
Born and raised in Vista, Frank attended local schools and graduated from Vista High. He continued his education at Palomar College while working full-time at a local grocery store and raising his first child, eventually becoming the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating with honors from California State University, Northridge.
Frank built his career in the local and global agriculture industry, promoting healthy foods and developing expertise in supply chain management. As a sales manager, he connects agricultural producers with local retailers through a farm-to-fork approach, supporting both the economy and the well-being of the community.
Frank also serves on the Vista Irrigation District Board of Directors, advocating for safe, reliable, and affordable water for local families. Beyond his professional work, he is passionate about empowering young people through storytelling and filmmaking, founding Future Filmmakers of America, a nonprofit that gives youth the tools and confidence to share their stories.
Frank has been married to his high school sweetheart, Christina, for 28 years, and they live near Bobier Elementary and Vista High with their three children: Isaiah, Ruby, and Elijah.
